Job Opening for Senior EditorPrimary responsibilities - Managing all aspects of print, web, and cdrom projects - Meeting with clients to develop editing plans - Editing books and reports for structure and substance - Editing brochures, reports, and books for style, consistency, and logic (technical and copy editing) - Creating and editing tables and figures in Excel - Reviewing the work of contract editors - Reviewing and preparing files to layout and printing - Delivering writing workshops Qualifications sought - 5 - 10 years in editing and publishing books and major reports - Degree in English, economics, or international affairs - Full knowledge of Chicago and APA style - Mastery of Word, Excel, and Acrobat - Experience in Adobe InDesign CS3 and SmartStyles for tables (for CS2) - Familiarity with Scientific Word - Proven ability as writing instructor - Overseas experience Salary based on experience Basic benefits - Paid vacation leave of 80 hours a year - Nine paid holidays - Jury duty and bereavement leave - Sick leave Additional benefits after three-month introductory period - Medical insurance, including vision care - 401 (k) retirement savings plan - Health club - Before-tax SmartBenefits (for Metro)
