CDI announces the launch of the Development Goals Web site

CDI proudly announces the launch of developmentgoals.org, a communication tool created for the World Bank Group. The Development Data Group unveiled the site at a press conference for the World Development Indicators 2001 on April 29, 2001.

The website is dedicated to development goals—and the 21 indicators that measure progress toward those goals—shared by the United Nations, World Bank, International Monetary Fund, and Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. The goals set targets for reducing poverty, improving health and education, and protecting the environment.

The Web site includes information on worldwide initiatives to achieve the goals, progress to date, and descriptions of the data sources to measure progress.
